Take Our Class!
To become a certified EMT in Connecticut, you must have successfully completed a Connecticut-approved EMT class (including written and practical exams), pass the cognitive exam from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), and completed BLS (CPR and AED) Training. EMT classes in Connecticut are structured to achieve all of these requirements.

NCEMS hosts an annual EMT class that begins in January and ends in May. The class meets twice a week, historically on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-10pm, and several Saturdays from 9-4pm. In addition to class time, NCEMS will arrange for students to gain 24-hours of ride-along observation time in a Norwalk Hospital ambulance. The cost of the class is $1,600 (includes Textbook, Online MyLab Course Access, Blood Pressure Cuff, Stethoscope, Pocket Mask for CPR, CPR Certification and a EMT Student shirt). We offer spots on a first come, first served basis and encourage all interested applicants to submit their application in the fall, but no later than December.
